It Burns!

I like Forever 21, I really do. I have ordered from the store multiple times, and when I recently found out there was a store nearby, I was thrilled. But having said that, the new "Find My Look" section on the Forever 21 website is truly heinous. It features one Godawful outfit after the next, until my eyes can't take it anymore. A lot of the pieces would be nice if styled differently, but together, they are just plain ick. See for yourself:

See? It burns!

I try to avoid negative posts, but I'm kind of hoping the Forever 21 team will read this and hire a new stylist. Trust me, I do this for all of our sakes.

Twelve by Twelve

From left to right: Chic chiffon bubble dress ($24), Vintage lace top w/ back ($34), Mod sequined knit dress ($36)

For some reason I was under the impression that Forever 21's Twelve by Twelve was going to be hideously expensive. But when I checked out the site today, I was pleasantly surprised! Nothing is too unreasonable, and if we're lucky, the quality will be good, too. I like the descriptions of the categories that the clothes are broken up into, and I like a lot of the clothes themselves. Let me know what the clothes are like if you ever see them in person!

Mike & Chris Knock-offs Galore!

So many options, my grasshoppers, so many options....

Free People

Old Navy

Forever 21

With so many knock-offs abounding, it might be hard not to rock a Mike & Chris - inspired hoodie this fall. What do you think...are you ready to take on the trend, or do the many knock-offs take away from the uniqueness of the jacket? I'm not so sure yet. All I know is that I've been missing wearing fleeces out of the house after I decided they were unfashionable at about age 12, so the chance to wear a fashion-foward fleece is hard to pass by. Plus, it's cute! What say you?

Another Knock-off

This top is on sale at Topshop. It also happens to look exactly like the top I bought at Forever 21 last month. Down to the last detail. There's no point even showing you a picture of my top, because it is so ridiculously similar. It seems Forever 21 isn't content with copying designers and felt the need to copy highstreet brands. Oh, how deliciously shameful.

21 Specials

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Has anyone been to forever21.com lately? Well, if you have, you probably noticed a somewhat exciting change. There is now a 'specials' section where 21 items are discounted by 20% for one day only. These items change every day. The good news: Cheapness! The bad news: This introduces the dilemna of whether you should buy an item right away or hope that it will eventually go on special. Also, there are no returns on these items. I tend to overthink these kinds of things, which is why I'm sitting here with my laptop and pondering whether the Forever 21 change is good or bad news. I thinks it's good. But like I said, I tend to overthink things.

So why the picture of the zebra bracelet, you might ask? Well, it made me laugh. If I owned it, I would save it exclusively for sad or rainy days and wear it to cheer up. $12 at Lulu's Fashion Lounge.

In the Nude

This nude sateen tube dress from Forever 21 (I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with this store) is a thing of beauty. My first thought upon seeing it was that it reminded me of "the naked dress" from Sex and the City (another one of my possibly unhealthy obsessions). My second was "Oh dear God, I must have this."

Before I purchase any item of clothing, I like to think about how it will fit into my wardrobe. Do I have accesssories and such that will go with it? Is it appropriate for events that I attend regularly? Will I feel comfortable enough in it to wear it often? I immediately asked myself these questions about the nude dress, came up with positive answers, and found myself bewildered by the possibilities.

I have come to the conclusion that the little nude dress should be a wardrobe staple. It can be dressed up or down, is very flattering, and is almost always appropriate. Forever 21 is actually a LND paradise, because it carries plenty of matching shoes and accessories. To illustrate the versatility of the LND, as well as the abundance of Forever 21 (I will prove to you the awesomeness of this store if it kills me), I put together a few outfits:

This look can be worn almost anywhere. It's perfect for a shopping trip, a night out, or even a wedding. Buy all the pieces from Forever 21.

I put together this look with a day at the office in mind, but it can really be worn anywhere (such is the beauty of the LND.) Buy it all at Forever 21.

Okay, I admit it, I cheated on this look. Not everything is from Forever 21. But I found the shoes at Macy's and fell in love. Gorgeous, no? And then I figured that as long as I was already cheating with the shoes, I might as well throw in a bag from Urban Outfitters. But the necklace and the dress are both Forever 21. This is definitely more of an evening look.

The third look is about the point when I started to get enormously excited. I was web-surfing like a maniac and finding all sorts of stunning things in tans and golds and beiges. Seriously, people, accessories for the LND can be found everywhere! There are plenty of options! So you have no excuse not to exult in your nude-ness. No excuse at all! (I am aware that I sound as if I am promoting nakedness. And by all means, go naked if you want to. But I think you all know that I was talking more along the lines of nude colors,)

I'd also like to add that I just noticed a sale at Alloy. Until 4/30 (that's today), you can use the code SAVE15A to get 15% off your order. Woohoo!
