Whoah

Can you believe this is what fashion magazines looked like in the 1800s? Things have changed. Bigtime. (I realize I'm stating the obvious...)

These pictures are from the French fashion magazine Le Follet Courier des Salons. It was apparently as popular as Vogue is today, exceptionally stylish, and boasted hand-colored pictures. A piece of art, no? Amazing.

I've always loved those long lovely dresses they wore centuries ago, I had my long flowy gypsy skirt phase a couple of years ago, but it's not just quite the same as the real thing! I wish I could go out in a dress like that blue one in the first picture without so much staring... oh wait, I wish I could get my hands on such a dress in the first place. :P
