Patty Does It Again

Walking past the Payless at the mall, I did a literal double-take when I saw these shoes in the window. After that, it was only a matter of two seconds of gawking before I wrapped a hand around my friend's wrist and yanked her toward the entryway of the store.

The Patricia Field label made sense. The platform, the super-high heel, and the studs certainly meshed with her fashion sensibilities, not to mention that had the shoes been a typical Payless brand I would have been absolutely shocked. The shoes look good in person; the leather is clearly faux up close, but the design appeals to me regardless. What can I say; when it comes to boots, I'm all for studs and leather. And the fact that the strap on the heel reminds me of the visor on a knight's helmet? That's just a plus.

You know with that heel height I will not be walking in these, but I still plan to try these on the next chance I get, just in case. They aren't available on the Payless site yet, but you can find them on Patricia Field's site, along with the rest of her new Payless collection (which, to be honest, isn't that impressive). And if you happen to be in the area, they are currently on sale at the Natick Collection.

Random addition: Rumi could make these absolutely killer.

Patricia Field for Payless: For Sale!

Remember Patricia Field's Payless line, scheduled to be released this holiday season? Well, two of the designs are available for sale at Patricia Field's website!

Saki Pump, $40

Sushi boot, $55

I don't love the Sushi boot, but I think the Saki pump is pretty cute, even if it's an ankle-breaker. The designs strike me as very playful, and very Patricia. I love the names of the shoes, too; so far I know that three of the shoe names are Saki, Sushi, and Tempora. Super fun!

What do you think?

I'm hoping that Payless steps it up this time. I saw Lela Rose's line in the store a few weeks ago and was sorely disappointed at how cheap it looked.

I Should Be on the Discovery Channel

The Eiffel Tower bag is a exceptional breed of handbag that is rarely seen outside of its natural habitat. It mostly resides in the hand of Ms. Carrie Bradshaw, although it tends to migrate south for the winter. An avid bag-watcher will be lucky to see one of these rare and mysterious creatures in the wild (unless they are a crazed SJP-stalker), but, wonderful fashion blogger/Discovery channel host that I am, I have located this phenomenon in Patricia Field's lovely online store.

That will be $2,100. It's a rare breed, after all.

Payless Red Carpet Collection by Patricia Field

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Payless sure has been busy as of late. First Abaete and Lela Rose, now Patricia Field. Yes, that's right...Patricia Field (You may know her as a stylist for Sex and the City and a costume designer for The Devil Wears Prada) is designing a collection for Payless. I, for one, am excited. The only shoes from the collection that are shown on the Payless website are the ones pictured above, but while I don't love them, they set a tone for a fun, funky collection that you could easilly picture on the set of Sex and the City. I do hope the rest of the collection involves shorter heels, though, because these ones are ankle-breakers. Expect to raid the Payless shelves for Patricia Field's creations in the holiday season of 2007.
