Cashmere Mafia

I managed to catch a preview of the first episode of Cashmere Mafia tonight and while it will never replace Sex and the City in my heart, well, let's just say it won't be difficult for me to become addicted. Not only is the plot quite enticing, but Patricia Field is still dead on and playfully daring with the styling. All of the women - Lucy Liu in particular - sported amazing clothes paired in interesting ways. Even if the plot was boring, which it isn't, I would be hooked by the styling. It's amazing what fashion can do for a show, no?

If you don't believe me, I beg you to check out the looks below, which were featured in tonight's show:

Lucy Liu wore the first one to the office, and I think she looked fantastic. Who but Patricia Field would think of pairing a beach-style wrap skirt with a crisp white shirt for a proffesional-yet-fun look? Genius! And the dress Lucy wears in the second picture - well, it's to die for. Seriously. Gorgeous.

I think I'm getting overly passionate about this. I'll end the post now, before things go downhill. It is just a tv show, albeit a fashionable one, after all.

Oh my God!!!! Oh my God! That skirt Lucy Liu is wearing came from my friend Evan's vintage clothing store. The name is Frock and it's on Orchard between Stanton and Rivington and everyone should check it out. I'm so excited that this piece made it into the first episode.

hmmmm...Sex and the City creator Darren Star is back to New York in this new dramedy pilot, about four female executives, friends since college, who support one another through the trials and tribulations of work, family, and everything else life in New York City throws at them.I managed to catch a preview of the first episode of Cashmere Mafia tonight and while it will never replace Sex and the City in my heart
